Cowabunga!
The Ways & Means Committee is very pleased to announce the 2012 MadHatter's Ball, Alice's Surf Party!
As you may recall, Alice's last trip was through a psychedelic wonderland. This spring's fundraiser will take all of us to the coast for sun, palm trees, tropical grub and surf music performed by the Sundog Surf Band .
The evening of March 30 will include food, entertainment and the chance to bid on our famously eclectic silent auction.
Individual tickets are $35. Reserved tables of 10 are a bargain at $300.
$500 sponsorships that include a reserved table and recognition in our program are available.

Dig out your Hawaiian shirt and flip flops and start working on a fabulous beach hat as you plan now to have a crazy good time with your friends.

"Change for a Cause"

A little pocket change can go a long way!
"Change for a Cause" is a new program instituted by the Philanthropy Committee. Members and friends can pick up popcorn boxes to collect change at the end of your day. Each month, the money turned into the Philanthropy Committee will go toward a specific cause.

JANUARY 2012: SAVE, Inc.

A good neighbor to the Athenaeum, SAVE, Inc. is the leading social service agency dedicated to providing housing solutions for individuals and families with or at risk for HIV/AIDS in the Kansas City Metro Area.

SAVE was founded in 1986 by a group of volunteers when they established SAVE Home in midtown with the first 24-hour hospice care especially for AIDS patients in the state of Missouri. From this humble act, SAVE has grown into an entity that helps nearly 700 individuals and families every month maintain a safe, stable and affordable home.

SAVE, Inc. serves a 15-county radius and offers assisted living, referral service, rent and utility assistance, emergency assistance and transitional and permanent housing.

Help Missouri Girls Town

You can help Missouri Girls Town by collecting labels that can be turned in for products and rebates. If you're willing to snip and save Campbell's Soup labels, Box Tops for Education or Escrip at Schnucks, Tamara Miller or Donna Calvin will happily turn them in to Girls Town.
