Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers looking for fun are needed for the MadHatter's Ball.
We have a beginning crew of cool surfer dudes and dudettes and we welcome more! If you know of an energetic FOTA (Friend of the Athenaeum) that would like to attend the party for free while helping our cause, please contact Susan Ford at madhatter@kcathenaeum.org or 816-531-2489.

Outta Sight Auction!
We are collecting items, certificates, ideas and events for the Alice's Eclectic Silent Auction. What can you contribute? Here are a few ideas

  • How about approaching a favorite business or restaurant for a gift certificate or donation?
  • Do you have an interesting antique piece of furniture, art or jewelry stashed away? We'll take it!
  • Are you a good cook? Group dinners or cocktail parties always sell well.
  • Tickets! Our party guests love movies, concerts and the theater.

Ways & Means is sponsoring Movie Night at the Athenaeum.

We'll share a classic movie, projected on the big screen in the Ballroom. Viewers are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, bean bags, blankets or sit on the black folding chairs.

Bar and concessions will be available.

The movies will be entertaining, but the most fun will be the company. Our theme is Classic Couples. Check out the Calendar of Events for dates and movie titles.

Door opens at 6:00 pm -- Movie starts at 6:30 pm
